« Exploring dark energy models with linear perturbations: Fluid vs scalar field »

M. Morita

A large number of dark energy models have been proposed since the cosmic acceleration was found by observations of type Ia SNe first in 1998. While the observations have got more and more precise, a dark energy model is not determined only by the SN observations because they see only the background cosmic expansion. We study the dynamics of linear perturbations in fluid-type and scalar field dark energy models, and compare the spectra of perturbations under a specific cosmic expansion. We discuss the similarity and difference of perturbation dynamics in fruid-type and scalar field models. This will be useful to clarify whether a fluid or a scalar field is more appropriate as a dark energy model.
