| Population synthesis provides a possibility to analyze glaboal properties of binary systems of various kinds. I will concentrate on the properties of compact object binaries - the most promising sources of gravitational waves. I will review the predictions obtained using the population synthesis methods and discuss various sources of uncertainty. Finally I will try to answer the question: what will the first source of gravitational waves be? |
