« Long distance dynamics of quantum fields in cosmology »

Victor Gorbenko
Stanford University (Stanford, Etats-Unis d'Amérique)

I will discuss a well-known problem of infrared divergences present in theories containing light interacting fields on de Sitter background. This problem is relevant for calculation of inflationary correlation functions as well as for fundamental questions like stability of cosmological spacetimes. Building up on the ideas of Starobinski, I will describe a new formalism which allows us to develop a systematic and controlled expansion for treating field theories in the relevant regime, in spite of the strong coupling at long distances.
