« Relativistic Transport Equations »

Christian Fidler

Relativistic transport equations are employed to generate accurate predictions for most astrophysical observations. While the problem of photon propagation is well understood and routinely used in the analysis of the Cosmic Microwave Background, I present a novel relativistic description for interacting fermion gases. A much simpler approach can be used to simulate the non-interacting and cold dark matter fluid, making up the majority of matter in our Universe. I show how the Newtonian motion gauges can be utilised to compute cosmological structure formation consistent with general relativity.
