« Bimetric MOND gravity (BIMOND) »

Mordehai Milgrom
Weizmann Institute (Rehovot, Israël)

After a brief introduction of MOND, I will first discuss some MOND phenomenology, especially recent results for x-ray elliptical galaxies, the dwarf satellites of Andromeda, and galaxy-galaxy weak lensing. Then I will describe and discuss BIMOND: a relativistic, bimetric theory with MOND phenomenology in the nonrelativistic limit, including the correct lensing properties. The bimetric interaction is a function of scalars constructed from the difference of the connections of the two metrics. The theory gives GR in the limit a0 goes to 0 (a0 is the MOND acceleration constant), and incorporates naturally the MOND-cosmology `coincidence' a02 Lambda.
