« Cosmology and GR limit of Horava-Lifshitz gravity »

In the first half of the talk I will discuss cosmological implications of a power-counting renormalizable theory of gravitation recently proposed by Horava. I explain that (i) the anisotropic scaling with the dynamical critical exponent z=3 solves the horizon problem and leads to scale-invariant cosmological perturbations even without inflation; and that (ii) at low energy this theory does not exactly recover general relativity but instead mimic general relativity plus dark matter. In the latter half I will discuss the fate of an extra scalar degree of freedom called scalar graviton. In particular, I show a couple of examples in which the system exhibits an analogue of Vainshtein effect so that the general relativity (plus dark matter) limit is continuous.
