« The Fermi/LAT gamma-ray excess at the Galactic Center: a hint of dark matter particles? » |

The field of dark matter indirect detection relies on astrophysical
observations to either find evidence for dark matter particles or set constraints on the parameter space available to these particles. In this context, an excess of gamma rays at GeV energies has been detected in the Fermi-LAT data. This signal comes from a narrow region around the Galactic Center. Although several conventional astrophysical sources could be responsible for this excess, intriguingly none of them is completely convincing, and an interpretation in terms of dark matter if possible. This makes this excess emission a potential hint of dark matter particles. In this talk I will review the various possible explanations, focusing in particular on the dark matter interpretation. |
