Where does every thing come from? Well, from the beginning of
the Universe of course! During my talk, I will review the current state-of-the-art regarding the physics of the early universe. I will motivate inflation as a simple and elegant way to explain not only the homogeneity of the CMB, but also the statistics of the small fluctuations than we observe in it. These tiny fluctuations are of quantum origine, and they are the primordial seeds to the enormous inhomogeneities that we observe nowadays as large-scale structures. I will explain why the simplest model of inflation is however not viable theoretically and I will try to convince you that one needs to dig further in more sophisticated but more realistic theories. Time permitting, I will also explain the role of reheating as a transition from inflation to the radiation-dominated era and the production of Standard Model particles. These reviews will be punctuated by insights in some of my research topics including multi-field inflation with an internal geometry, stochastic treatment of the inflationary fluctuations, as well as multi-fluid realistic reheating.
