« Dyablo-RTZ: non-equilibrium thermochemistry on the GPU »

GPU-based architectures are becoming increasingly dominant in high-performance computing, motivating the development of astrophysical simulation codes capable of efficiently exploiting these systems. In this talk, I will present recent efforts to implement galaxy formation physics in the GPU-compatible AMR code Dyablo. In particular, I will describe a non-equilibrium thermochemistry model tailored to the physical conditions of the ISM, coupled to multi-frequency radiative transfer. I will present preliminary results from a dwarf galaxy simulation run entirely on a single NVIDIA H100 GPU and discuss the computational and algorithmic challenges involved in implementing complex physical models on GPUs.
