We conducted an investigation into Lyman-Continuum (LyC) emissions from
Lyman-Alpha Emitters (LAEs) at z4.5, identified in the One-hundred-deg^2 DECam Imaging in Narrowband survey (ODIN). Employing a narrow-band filter N673 (central wavelength of 673 nm) and g and i broad-band filters, we initially identified 4,228 LAE candidates at z~4.5. To ensure sample reliability, we excluded LAEs contaminated by neighboring sources or likely low-z objects, resulting in a refined set of 816 LAEs. After additional exclusions due to failed background modeling, our final sample comprises 378 LAEs. Forced photometry was then performed by measuring u-band fluxes, probing the rest-frame LyC fluxes at the locations of these 378 LAEs. Our analysis identified 4 (85) LyC candidates at z~4.5 with a signal-to-noise ratio (S/N) exceeding 3 (1). From the stacks of 378 LAEs, we estimated a LyC flux of 3.91e-9 (variance-weighted) and 3.78e-9 Jy (median stack) with S/N~10. Stacking LAE subsamples based on UV continuum luminosity, colors, and Lyman-Alpha equivalent width, we explored how LyC flux evolves across these subsamples. To authenticate individual LyC leaker candidates, we plan to conduct follow-up observations involving high-resolution spectroscopy and photometry. |
