| Supermassive black hole feedback plays a central role in the evolution of galaxy clusters by inflating X-ray cavities and driving shocks, sound waves, and turbulence within the intracluster medium. At the same time, multi-wavelength observations reveal a rich multiphase medium, where warm ionized and cold molecular gas form extended filamentary structures embedded within the hot X-ray-emitting atmosphere. Despite its importance, capturing the observable signatures of AGN feedback and their interaction with multiphase gas remains a major challenge for cosmological simulations. In this talk, I will present a series of studies combining cosmological magnetohydrodynamical simulations from the TNG-Cluster project with X-ray observations of galaxy clusters. I will show that the IllustrisTNG feedback model naturally produces realistic populations of X-ray cavities and weak shocks, reproducing their observed morphologies and several key scaling relations, and discuss predictions for the population and energetic impact of AGN-driven shocks. Finally, I will present results from a new high-resolution cosmological cluster simulation designed to investigate the interaction between AGN feedback and cool gas. |
