« Pulsar Timing Arrays and ultra-low-frequency Gravitational Waves »

Prerna rana
(Joint seminar High-Energy/GReCO) - Dept. Mathematics Applied Mathematics, Univ. Cape Town (Le Cap, Afrique du Sud)

Pulsar Timing Arrays (PTAs) have opened a new window in ultra-low-frequency gravitational wave astronomy, with global PTA experiments independently reporting evidence of a stochastic gravitational-wave background. In this talk, I will give a brief introduction to PTAs and highlight recent findings. I will also focus on details of the Indian PTA (InPTA) experiment - an Indo-Japanese collaboration. I will then move to presenting the latest and second data release of the InPTA experiment (InPTA-DR2). Finally, I will discuss potential science outcomes expected in the future.
