I will present the contributions of Gaia to the characterization of candidate exoplanets detected by radial velocities and high-contrast imaging. By combining these methods with the astrometric measurements published in the Gaia archives, it is immediately possible to characterize some of these candidate companions, in particular by determining the orbital inclination and their true mass. But Gaia also makes it possible, via the two indicators that are astrometric dispersion (astrometric_excess_noise) and astrometric acceleration (proper motion anomaly), to predict the existence of companions, hitherto unknown, in a large number of systems. I will review the type of companions that we can immediately expect to detect or characterize depending on the spectral type, parallax, and magnitude of the stars in question. I will conclude on the detection performance that we can anticipate for the future DR4.
