| The ground-based spectroscopy is affected by the telluric absorption – absorption which is produced by the Earth’s atmosphere. We will see how it affects observations, discuss if it could be useful for the radial velocity technique, if correction is necessary and what are the methods to correct for it. Discussion will refer to articles and show the historical timeline of methods development, the last article in our discussion will be the one published at 2023 by the reporter Ivanova et al. “Improved precision of radial velocity measurements after correction for telluric absorption”. |
