« Component separation after Planck »

Caterina Umiltà
Institut d'Astrophysique de Paris (Paris, France)

Planck satellite observed the whole sky in the microwave range to unprecedented resolution, which enables us to improve significantly the former constraints on cosmological parameters.
However the microwave background is obfuscated by the foregrounds emission, such as for example galactic dust, which have to be subtracted before analyzing the CMB maps. These are removed by component separation techniques: the Planck collaboration has developed four different methods.
In this talk I will present in more detail one of them and some possible improvements.
